Low temperature

Postby Djdave » Fri Dec 29, 2017 3:14 pm

Hi, found this forum while looking for an answer to my boiler issue.

I've got an old ravenheat combo boiler, it's been working away happily for years.

I've always had the radiator water temperature set around 75 which heats the house up nicely. After a couple of hours the living room heats up to around 22 and the thermostat turns the boiler off.

We came back from holiday yesterday and turned the heating on, the radiator water temperature never got above 55. It took forever to heat the house through. It's the same today.

Turning the temperature control up to its maximum isn't making any difference. It won't go above 55.

Any ideas about what might be causing this would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Hello and a warm welcome to the forum
This sounds like a faulty sensor inside the boiler (called NTC thermistor)
Thanks

Hi, thanks for the welcome & the information. I'll look into that & see if it's something I can replace myself.

Not sure the boiler is worth an expensive repair as it's at least 15 years old.

Thanks, Dave
