Replace Worcester 28i Junior

Postby Minantra » Tue Oct 09, 2018 1:16 pm

Hiya everyone,
I'm a first time buyer and just about to buy a small one bedroom flat with a Worcester 28i junior which is 13 years old and doesn't have a system filter.
It was serviced November last year, and a new circuit board and air pressure switch was installed, but the engineer said that as the boiler is so old there are almost no parts available left so recommended getting a new boiler.
Should I buy a new boiler?
It apparently works OK, but the energy rating will be G I guess and the efficiency low?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello and a warm welcome to the forum
The boiler is a 'd' rated boiler, so is middle of the pack. You can still get all parts for the boiler. My advice is save your money until it falls off the wall!!

Hi kfordgas,
Many thanks for the quick reply.
The plumber also suggested to me that the best boiler to install would be a 29KW Viessmann 050 combi.
Any good, IF I decided on a new one?
Cheers.
